Links

I've boldly started adding links to people who commented on Ronni's post about quitting. I keep thinking, "Maybe I should ask permission..." But as I check each one out, I realize it's one I want to visit again and this will be a good place to keep track of them.

Still if you'd prefer not to be listed just let me know.

I think this is a great idea...and hopefully Ronni will chime in as topics pop up that she can offer insight on...at least the pressure will be off of her! Thanks for the link...and even though I just turned 40 this year...aging issues are top most in my mind...maybe I won't sit on the sidelines so much anymore!

I'm delighted to be linked. I lurked more than commented on TGB, but I am quite sad to learn of Ronni's decision. Although I am not an activist blogger, I almost shut down my own site after a nasty troll incident 18 months ago. I'm truly glad I decided to stick it out.

I changed some things, somewhat altered my content, and established a private blog to talk about topics with a select audience that had proven to be troublesome in the more public forum. It was all worth it. I'm glad to still be blogging and I hope Ronni will find a good mix that will work for her as well and stay in the fray.

Bravo to Mary Ann for seeking the silver lining in this situation. Ronni laid the groundwork that brought together one of the most amazing communities of like-minded individuals on the Web, and I'm honored to continue to be a part of that community. ChangingAging.org will continue to champion the ideals and values Ronni espoused and we encourage all of her fans to "Keep on Blogging."

Thank you for doing this. I am not a blogger...yet... But I faithfully read TGB and believe that Ronni not only was a leader in exploring aging, but in understanding and naming ageism -- the belief that the lies, stereotypes, and myths about Elders are true. And that is what she ran up against. Ageism is as insidious and rooted in our societies as racism, sexism, heterosexism, etc., and as difficult to uproot. Thank you for this site. Judith

Mary Ann I applaud your effort to keep some of the TGB alumni together after a fashion.I will include this blog in my favorites as I do not know how to link...

Mary Ann, lovely idea. And a perfect example of the kind of community that Ronni espoused.

May I make a suggestion? Would you consider putting up a short bio of yourself and your connection to TGB? This is your brain child, and I for one would like to know more about you, and hopefully the other commenters you have listed to seed this site.

Thank you so much for furnishing a home where we elderbloggers can sit around the campfire and get to know each other as we contemplate the wisest ways to carry on. Just because Ronni's taking a well-earned rest, it doesn't mean we can't maintained the robustness of the community in the event of her return, should that be in the stars.

I'd be honored to be a part of such good company. I still miss Ronni, however, and keep hoping she'll change her mind.

Thank you! What an unexpected kind thing to do. And I'll be happy to also give links to all these fine bloggers (and your new blog) on my site. Nothing like developing community.
